33: When Jesus saw her weeping and saw the other people wailing with her, he was moved with indignation and was deeply troubled.

Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, 'Father, save me from what lies ahead'? But that is the very reason why I came!

And again Jesus was deeply troubled. Then they came to the grave. It was a cave with a stone rolled across its entrance.

He looked around at them angrily, because he was deeply disturbed by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, "Reach out your hand." The man reached out his hand, and it became normal again!

Then Joseph made a hasty exit because he was overcome with emotion for his brother and wanted to cry. Going into his private room, he wept there.
Then he washed his face and came out, keeping himself under control. "Bring on the food!" he ordered.

Joseph could stand it no longer. "Out, all of you!" he cried out to his attendants. He wanted to be alone with his brothers when he told them who he was.
Then he broke down and wept aloud. His sobs could be heard throughout the palace, and the news was quickly carried to Pharaoh's palace.
"I am Joseph!" he said to his brothers. "Is my father still alive?" But his brothers were speechless! They were stunned to realize that Joseph was standing there in front of them.
"Come over here," he said. So they came closer. And he said again, "I am Joseph, your brother whom you sold into Egypt.
But don't be angry with yourselves that you did this to me, for God did it. He sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives.

While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could deliver him out of death. And God heard his prayers because of his reverence for God.
So even though Jesus was God's Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin.

Jesus said to them, "You faithless people! How long must I be with you until you believe? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me."

He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he began to be filled with horror and deep distress.
He told them, "My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and watch with me."
He went on a little farther and fell face down on the ground. He prayed that, if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting him might pass him by.

Now Jesus was in great anguish of spirit, and he exclaimed, "The truth is, one of you will betray me!"
