15: They cling to their home for security, but it won't last. They try to hold it fast, but it will not endure.

The houses built by the wicked are as fragile as a spiderweb, as flimsy as a shelter made of branches.

"Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse, because it is built on rock.
But anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.
When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will fall with a mighty crash."

I will show you what it's like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then obeys me.
It is like a person who builds a house on a strong foundation laid upon the underlying rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built.
But anyone who listens and doesn't obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will crumble into a heap of ruins."

They are torn from the security of their tent, and they are brought down to the king of terrors.

But God will strike you down once and for all. He will pull you from your home and drag you from the land of the living.
The righteous will see it and be amazed. They will laugh and say,
"Look what happens to mighty warriors who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness."

The hopes of the godly result in happiness, but the expectations of the wicked are all in vain.

The grave is their eternal home, where they will stay forever. They may name their estates after themselves, but they leave their wealth to others.

The wicked will be infuriated when they see this. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.
