Job 38:1

  2. "Do you still want to argue with the Almighty? You are God's critic, but do you have the answers?"

  1. "If only I had someone who would listen to me and try to see my side! Look, I will sign my name to my defense. Let the Almighty show me that I am wrong. Let my accuser write out the charges against me.

Job 23:3

  1. If only I knew where to find God, I would go to his throne and talk with him there.

  3. Then I would listen to his reply and understand what he says to me.
  4. Would he merely argue with me in his greatness? No, he would give me a fair hearing.
  5. Fair and honest people can reason with him, so I would be acquitted by my Judge.

  1. "Look, you and I are the same before God. I, too, was formed from clay.
  2. So you don't need to be afraid of me. I am not some great person to make you nervous and afraid.
  3. "You have said it in my hearing. I have heard your very words.
  4. You said, `I am pure; I am innocent; I have not sinned.
  5. God is picking a quarrel with me, and he considers me to be his enemy.

Job 40:8

  1. Are you going to discredit my justice and condemn me so you can say you are right?

  1. After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite: "I am angry with you and with your two friends, for you have not been right in what you said about me, as my servant Job was.
