20: He took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king's prisoners were held.

For I was kidnapped from my homeland, the land of the Hebrews, and now I'm here in jail, but I did nothing to deserve it."

From prison and trial they led him away to his death. But who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins--that he was suffering their punishment?

Some time later, Pharaoh's chief cup-bearer and chief baker offended him.
Pharaoh became very angry with these officials,
and he put them in the prison where Joseph was, in the palace of Potiphar, the captain of the guard.

So they tied them up and threw them into the furnace, fully clothed.
And because the king, in his anger, had demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, the flames leaped out and killed the soldiers as they threw the three men in!

Then the king's cup-bearer spoke up. "Today I have been reminded of my failure," he said.
"Some time ago, you were angry with the chief baker and me, and you imprisoned us in the palace of the captain of the guard.
One night the chief baker and I each had a dream, and each dream had a meaning.
We told the dreams to a young Hebrew man who was a servant of the captain of the guard. He told us what each of our dreams meant,
and everything happened just as he said it would. I was restored to my position as cup-bearer, and the chief baker was executed and impaled on a pole."

And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained.

Human opposition only enhances your glory, for you use it as a sword of judgment.

For God is pleased with you when, for the sake of your conscience, you patiently endure unfair treatment.

There in prison, they bruised his feet with fetters and placed his neck in an iron collar.
Until the time came to fulfill his word, the LORD tested Joseph's character.
