Genesis 25:5

5: Abraham left everything he owned to his son Isaac.

When Sarah, my master's wife, was very old, she gave birth to my master's son, and my master has given him everything he owns.

But now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he made the universe and everything in it.

"My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

So she turned to Abraham and demanded, "Get rid of that servant and her son. He is not going to share the family inheritance with my son, Isaac. I won't have it!"
This upset Abraham very much because Ishmael was his son.
But God told Abraham, "Do not be upset over the boy and your servant wife. Do just as Sarah says, for Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.

Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth.

And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and now all the promises God gave to him belong to you.

When you ascended to the heights, you led a crowd of captives. You received gifts from the people, even from those who rebelled against you. Now the LORD God will live among us here.

And since we are his children, we will share his treasures--for everything God gives to his Son, Christ, is ours, too. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

Since God did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won't God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else?

So don't take pride in following a particular leader. Everything belongs to you:
Paul and Apollos and Peter; the whole world and life and death; the present and the future. Everything belongs to you,
and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

And you, dear brothers and sisters, are children of the promise, just like Isaac.

For you have given him authority over everyone in all the earth. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him.

Just the fact that they are descendants of Abraham doesn't make them truly Abraham's children. For the Scriptures say, "Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted," though Abraham had other children, too.
This means that Abraham's physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. It is the children of the promise who are considered to be Abraham's children.
For God had promised, "Next year I will return, and Sarah will have a son."
