Genesis 17:21

21: But my covenant is with Isaac, who will be born to you and Sarah about this time next year."

Sarah became pregnant, and she gave a son to Abraham in his old age. It all happened at the time God had said it would.
And Abraham named his son Isaac.

Then one of them said, "About this time next year I will return, and your wife Sarah will have a son." Now Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent nearby.

The LORD appeared to him there and said, "Do not go to Egypt.
Do as I say, and stay here in this land. If you do, I will be with you and bless you. I will give all this land to you and your descendants, just as I solemnly promised Abraham, your father.
I will cause your descendants to become as numerous as the stars, and I will give them all these lands. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed.
I will do this because Abraham listened to me and obeyed all my requirements, commands, regulations, and laws."

And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and now all the promises God gave to him belong to you.

And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith--for he was like a foreigner, living in a tent. And so did Isaac and Jacob, to whom God gave the same promise.

For he promised our ancestors--Abraham and his children--to be merciful to them forever."

He has been merciful to our ancestors by remembering his sacred covenant with them,

So Jacob set out for Egypt with all his possessions. And when he came to Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of his father, Isaac.

Then he blessed Joseph and said, "May God, the God before whom my grandfather Abraham and my father, Isaac, walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life,

So she turned to Abraham and demanded, "Get rid of that servant and her son. He is not going to share the family inheritance with my son, Isaac. I won't have it!"
This upset Abraham very much because Ishmael was his son.
But God told Abraham, "Do not be upset over the boy and your servant wife. Do just as Sarah says, for Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.

Their ancestors were great people of God, and Christ himself was a Jew as far as his human nature is concerned. And he is God, who rules over everything and is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.
Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to the Jews? No, for not everyone born into a Jewish family is truly a Jew!

God heard their cries and remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

"I wish you would hide me with the dead and forget me there until your anger has passed. But mark your calendar to think of me again!

Then he said, "I am the God of your ancestors--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." When Moses heard this, he hid his face in his hands because he was afraid to look at God.
