  1. This left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and wrestled with him until dawn.
  2. When the man saw that he couldn't win the match, he struck Jacob's hip and knocked it out of joint at the socket.
  3. Then the man said, "Let me go, for it is dawn." But Jacob panted, "I will not let you go unless you bless me."

Judges 6:21

  1. Then the angel of the LORD touched the meat and bread with the staff in his hand, and fire flamed up from the rock and consumed all he had brought. And the angel of the LORD disappeared.
  2. When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he cried out, "Sovereign LORD, I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!"
  3. "It is all right," the LORD replied. "Do not be afraid. You will not die."
  4. And Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and named it "The LORD Is Peace." The altar remains in Ophrah in the land of the clan of Abiezer to this day.

Isaiah 63:9

  1. In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years.

1 Timothy 6:16
