1: Now in early autumn, when the Israelites had settled in their towns, all the people assembled together as one person in Jerusalem.
Leviticus 23:24
- to give these instructions to the Israelites: "On the appointed day in early autumn, you are to celebrate a day of complete rest. All your work must stop on that day. You will call the people to a sacred assembly--the Festival of Trumpets--with loud blasts from a trumpet.
1 Corinthians 1:10

Numbers 29:1
- "The Festival of Trumpets will be celebrated on the appointed day in early autumn each year. You must call a solemn assembly of all the people on that day, and no regular work may be done.
- On that day you must present a burnt offering, very pleasing to the LORD. It will consist of one young bull, one ram, and seven one-year-old male lambs, all with no physical defects.
- These must be accompanied by grain offerings of choice flour mixed with olive oil--five quarts with the bull, three quarts with the ram,
- and two quarts with each of the seven lambs.
- In addition, you must sacrifice a male goat as a sin offering, to make atonement for yourselves.
Acts 2:46
- They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity--

- All the believers were of one heart and mind, and they felt that what they owned was not their own; they shared everything they had.
Leviticus 23:27
- "Remember that the Day of Atonement is to be celebrated on the ninth day after the Festival of Trumpets. On that day you must humble yourselves, gather for a sacred assembly, and present offerings to the LORD by fire.
- Do no work during that entire day because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement will be made for you before the LORD your God, and payment will be made for your sins.
- Anyone who does not spend that day in humility will be cut off from the community.
- And I will destroy anyone among you who does any kind of work on that day.
- You must do no work at all! This is a permanent law for you, and it must be observed wherever you live.
Zephaniah 3:9
- "On that day I will purify the lips of all people, so that everyone will be able to worship the LORD together.
Exodus 23:14
- "Each year you must celebrate three festivals in my honor.
- The first is the Festival of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast, just as I commanded you before. This festival will be an annual event at the appointed time in early spring, for that is the anniversary of your exodus from Egypt. Everyone must bring me a sacrifice at that time.
- You must also celebrate the Festival of Harvest, when you bring me the first crops of your harvest. Finally, you are to celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the harvest season.
- At these three times each year, every man in Israel must appear before the Sovereign LORD.
Nehemiah 7:73
- "So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the Temple servants, along with some of the people--that is to say, all Israel--settled in their own towns." Now in midautumn, when the Israelites had settled in their towns,
- all the people assembled together as one person at the square just inside the Water Gate. They asked Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had given for Israel to obey. 1
- So on October 8 Ezra the priest brought the scroll of the law before the assembly, which included the men and women and all the children old enough to understand.
Nehemiah 8:14
- As they studied the law, they discovered that the LORD had commanded through Moses that the Israelites should live in shelters during the festival to be held that month.
Leviticus 16:29
- "On the appointed day in early autumn, you must spend the day fasting and not do any work. This is a permanent law for you, and it applies to those who are Israelites by birth, as well as to the foreigners living among you.
Judges 20:1
