Ezekiel 3:1
1: The voice said to me, "Son of man, eat what I am giving you--eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel."
Revelation 10:9
- So I approached him and asked him to give me the little scroll. "Yes, take it and eat it," he said. "At first it will taste like honey, but when you swallow it, it will make your stomach sour!"
- So I took the little scroll from the hands of the angel, and I ate it! It was sweet in my mouth, but it made my stomach sour.
Ezekiel 3:17
- "Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, pass it on to the people immediately.
- If I warn the wicked, saying, `You are under the penalty of death,' but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible, demanding your blood for theirs.
- If you warn them and they keep on sinning and refuse to repent, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved your life because you did what you were told to do.
- If good people turn bad and don't listen to my warning, they will die. If you did not warn them of the consequences, then they will die in their sins. Their previous good deeds won't help them, and I will hold you responsible, demanding your blood for theirs.
- But if you warn them and they repent, they will live, and you will have saved your own life, too."

- Son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not join them in being a rebel. Open your mouth, and eat what I give you."

Jeremiah 24:1
- After King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon exiled Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, to Babylon along with the princes of Judah and all the skilled craftsmen, the LORD gave me this vision. I saw two baskets of figs placed in front of the LORD's Temple in Jerusalem.
- One basket was filled with fresh, ripe figs, while the other was filled with figs that were spoiled and could not be eaten.
- Then the LORD said to me, "What do you see, Jeremiah?" I replied, "Figs, some very good and some very bad."
- Then the LORD gave me this message:
- "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: The good figs represent the exiles I sent from Judah to the land of the Babylonians.
