30: They weep bitterly as they throw dust on their heads and roll in ashes.

Now my people, dress yourselves in sackcloth, and sit among the ashes. Mourn and weep bitterly, as for the loss of an only son. For suddenly, the destroying armies will be upon you!

She bought great quantities of gold, silver, jewels, pearls, fine linen, purple dye, silk, scarlet cloth, every kind of perfumed wood, ivory goods, objects made of expensive wood, bronze, iron, and marble.

Then Job scraped his skin with a piece of broken pottery as he sat among the ashes.

Don't tell our enemies in the city of Gath; don't weep at all. You people in Beth-leaphrah, roll in the dust to show your anguish and despair.

I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance."

When they saw Job from a distance, they scarcely recognized him. Wailing loudly, they tore their robes and threw dust into the air over their heads to demonstrate their grief.

They shave their heads in grief because of you and dress themselves in sackcloth. They weep for you with bitter anguish and deep mourning.
As they wail and mourn, they sing this sad funeral song: `Was there ever such a city as Tyre, now silent at the bottom of the sea?
