7: These stones served as reminders to the LORD concerning the people of Israel. All this was done just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Joshua 4:7
- Then you can tell them, `They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the LORD's covenant went across.' These stones will stand as a permanent memorial among the people of Israel."
Exodus 28:12
- Fasten the two stones on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the people of Israel. Aaron will carry these names before the LORD as a constant reminder.
