Deuteronomy 20:10

10: "As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace.

"Whenever you enter a home, give it your blessing.
If those who live there are worthy, the blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will return to you.

All this newness of life is from God, who brought us back to himself through what Christ did. And God has given us the task of reconciling people to him.
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others.
We are Christ's ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, "Be reconciled to God!"
For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.
As God's partners, we beg you not to reject this marvelous message of God's great kindness.

He has brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and to us Jews who were near.

Then she continued, "There used to be a saying, `If you want to settle an argument, ask advice at the city of Abel.'
I am one who is peace loving and faithful in Israel. But you are destroying a loyal city. Why do you want to destroy what belongs to the LORD?"
And Joab replied, "Believe me, I don't want to destroy your city!
All I want is a man named Sheba son of Bicri from the hill country of Ephraim, who has revolted against King David. If you hand him over to me, we will leave the city in peace.All right," the woman replied, "we will throw his head over the wall to you."
Then the woman went to the people with her wise advice, and they cut off Sheba's head and threw it out to Joab. So he blew the trumpet and called his troops back from the attack, and they all returned to their homes. Joab returned to the king at Jerusalem.

Then words of praise will be on their lips. May they have peace, both near and far, for I will heal them all," says the LORD.

I will remove the battle chariots from Israel and the warhorses from Jerusalem, and I will destroy all the weapons used in battle. Your king will bring peace to the nations. His realm will stretch from sea to sea and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.

I'm sure you have heard about the Good News for the people of Israel--that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.
