15: My wise men and enchanters have tried to read this writing on the wall, but they cannot.

Daniel 5:7

  1. The king shouted for the enchanters, astrologers, and fortune-tellers to be brought before him. He said to these wise men of Babylon, "Whoever can read this writing and tell me what it means will be dressed in purple robes of royal honor and will wear a gold chain around his neck. He will become the third highest ruler in the kingdom!"
  2. But when all the king's wise men came in, none of them could read the writing or tell him what it meant.

Isaiah 47:12

  1. "Call out the demon hordes you have worshiped all these years. Ask them to help you strike terror into the hearts of people once again.

Daniel 2:3

  1. he said, "I have had a dream that troubles me. Tell me what I dreamed, for I must know what it means."
  2. Then the astrologers answered the king in Aramaic, "Long live the king! Tell us the dream, and we will tell you what it means."
  3. But the king said to the astrologers, "I am serious about this. If you don't tell me what my dream was and what it means, you will be torn limb from limb, and your houses will be demolished into heaps of rubble!
  4. But if you tell me what I dreamed and what the dream means, I will give you many wonderful gifts and honors. Just tell me the dream and what it means!"
  5. They said again, "Please, Your Majesty. Tell us the dream, and we will tell you what it means."

Isaiah 29:10

  1. For the LORD has poured out on you a spirit of deep sleep. He has closed the eyes of your prophets and visionaries.
  2. All these future events are a sealed book to them. When you give it to those who can read, they will say, "We can't read it because it is sealed."
  3. When you give it to those who cannot read, they will say, "Sorry, we don't know how to read."
