Acts 24:15

15: I have hope in God, just as these men do, that he will raise both the righteous and the ungodly.

Many of those whose bodies lie dead and buried will rise up, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Don't be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son,
and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment.

"But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and that he will stand upon the earth at last.
And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God!

For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus comes, God will bring back with Jesus all the Christians who have died.
I can tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not rise to meet him ahead of those who are in their graves.
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves.

Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years.

But tell me this--since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead?
For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either.
And if Christ was not raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your trust in God is useless.
And we apostles would all be lying about God, for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave, but that can't be true if there is no resurrection of the dead.
If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised.

I asked you to come here today so we could get acquainted and so I could tell you that I am bound with this chain because I believe that the hope of Israel--the Messiah--has already come."
They replied, "We have heard nothing against you. We have had no letters from Judea or reports from anyone who has arrived here.
But we want to hear what you believe, for the only thing we know about these Christians is that they are denounced everywhere."
So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul's house. He told them about the Kingdom of God and taught them about Jesus from the Scriptures--from the five books of Moses and the books of the prophets. He began lecturing in the morning and went on into the evening.
Some believed and some didn't.

But now, as to whether there will be a resurrection of the dead--haven't you ever read about this in the Scriptures? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said,
'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' So he is the God of the living, not the dead."

Paul realized that some members of the high council were Sadducees and some were Pharisees, so he shouted, "Brothers, I am a Pharisee, as were all my ancestors! And I am on trial because my hope is in the resurrection of the dead!"
This divided the council--the Pharisees against the Sadducees--
for the Sadducees say there is no resurrection or angels or spirits, but the Pharisees believe in all of these.

He will take these weak mortal bodies of ours and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same mighty power that he will use to conquer everything, everywhere.

I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done.
The sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead in them. They were all judged according to their deeds.

Now I am on trial because I am looking forward to the fulfillment of God's promise made to our ancestors.
In fact, that is why the twelve tribes of Israel worship God night and day, and they share the same hope I have. Yet, O king, they say it is wrong for me to have this hope!

except for one thing I said when I shouted out, 'I am on trial before you today because I believe in the resurrection of the dead!'"
