  3. Then the LORD turned from this plan, too. "I won't do that either," said the Sovereign LORD.
  4. Then he showed me another vision. I saw the Lord standing beside a wall that had been built using a plumb line. He was checking it with a plumb line to see if it was straight.

  1. Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, "Ananias!Yes, Lord!" he replied.

  2. When I looked inside the sheet, I saw all sorts of small animals, wild animals, reptiles, and birds that we are not allowed to eat.
  3. And I heard a voice say, 'Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.'
  4. "'Never, Lord,' I replied. 'I have never eaten anything forbidden by our Jewish laws. '
  5. "But the voice from heaven came again, 'If God says something is acceptable, don't say it isn't.'

Amos 8:2

  1. "What do you see, Amos?" he asked. I replied, "A basket full of ripe fruit." Then the LORD said, "This fruit represents my people of Israel--ripe for punishment! I will not delay their punishment again.
