2 Corinthians 8:21

21: We are careful to be honorable before the Lord, but we also want everyone else to know we are honorable.

Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable.

Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God when he comes to judge the world.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

to live wisely and be pure, to take care of their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.
In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely in all they do.
And you yourself must be an example to them by doing good deeds of every kind. Let everything you do reflect the integrity and seriousness of your teaching.
Let your teaching be so correct that it can't be criticized. Then those who want to argue will be ashamed because they won't have anything bad to say about us.

You see, we are not like those hucksters--and there are many of them--who preach just to make money. We preach God's message with sincerity and with Christ's authority. And we know that the God who sent us is watching us.

If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too.

Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

So I advise these younger widows to marry again, have children, and take care of their own homes. Then the enemy will not be able to say anything against them.

So our aim is to please him always, whether we are here in this body or away from this body.
For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies.
It is because we know this solemn fear of the Lord that we work so hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too.

"Take care! Don't do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.

"Everything they do is for show. On their arms they wear extra wide prayer boxes with Scripture verses inside, and they wear extra long tassels on their robes.

In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
