  1. Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ cannot help you.
  2. I'll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey all of the regulations in the whole law of Moses.
  3. For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God's grace.

  3. And if Christ was not raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your trust in God is useless.
  4. And we apostles would all be lying about God, for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave, but that can't be true if there is no resurrection of the dead.
  5. If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised.

Romans 15:1

  1. We may know that these things make no difference, but we cannot just go ahead and do them to please ourselves. We must be considerate of the doubts and fears of those who think these things are wrong.

Nehemiah 13:15

  1. One Sabbath day I saw some men of Judah treading their winepresses. They were also bringing in bundles of grain and loading them on their donkeys. And on that day they were bringing their wine, grapes, figs, and all sorts of produce to Jerusalem to sell. So I rebuked them for selling their produce on the Sabbath.

  5. So I commanded that from then on the gates of the city should be shut as darkness fell every Friday evening, not to be opened until the Sabbath ended. I also sent some of my own servants to guard the gates so that no merchandise could be brought in on the Sabbath day.

John 2:17

1 Corinthians 6:15

  1. Don't you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which belongs to Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never!

Jude 1:3

  1. Dearly loved friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the truth of the Good News. God gave this unchanging truth once for all time to his holy people.
  2. I say this because some godless people have wormed their way in among you, saying that God's forgiveness allows us to live immoral lives. The fate of such people was determined long ago, for they have turned against our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 11:13

  1. These people are false apostles. They have fooled you by disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.
  2. But I am not surprised! Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light.
  3. So it is no wonder his servants can also do it by pretending to be godly ministers. In the end they will get every bit of punishment their wicked deeds deserve.

Numbers 25:6

  1. Just then one of the Israelite men brought a Midianite woman into the camp, right before the eyes of Moses and all the people, as they were weeping at the entrance of the Tabernacle.
  2. When Phinehas son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron the priest saw this, he jumped up and left the assembly. Then he took a spear
  3. and rushed after the man into his tent. Phinehas thrust the spear all the way through the man's body and into the woman's stomach. So the plague against the Israelites was stopped,
  4. but not before 24,000 people had died.

1 Corinthians 6:5

  1. I am saying this to shame you. Isn't there anyone in all the church who is wise enough to decide these arguments?
  2. But instead, one Christian sues another--right in front of unbelievers!
  3. To have such lawsuits at all is a real defeat for you. Why not just accept the injustice and leave it at that? Why not let yourselves be cheated?

Galatians 2:14

  1. When I saw that they were not following the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter in front of all the others, "Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you trying to make these Gentiles obey the Jewish laws you abandoned?

Galatians 1:7

  1. that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who twist and change the truth concerning Christ.
  2. Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed.
  3. I will say it again: If anyone preaches any other gospel than the one you welcomed, let God's curse fall upon that person.
  4. Obviously, I'm not trying to be a people pleaser! No, I am trying to please God. If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ's servant.

Nehemiah 5:6

  1. When I heard their complaints, I was very angry.
  2. After thinking about the situation, I spoke out against these nobles and officials. I told them, "You are oppressing your own relatives by charging them interest when they borrow money!" Then I called a public meeting to deal with the problem.
  3. At the meeting I said to them, "The rest of us are doing all we can to redeem our Jewish relatives who have had to sell themselves to pagan foreigners, but you are selling them back into slavery again. How often must we redeem them?" And they had nothing to say in their defense.
  4. Then I pressed further, "What you are doing is not right! Should you not walk in the fear of our God in order to avoid being mocked by enemy nations?
  5. I myself, as well as my brothers and my workers, have been lending the people money and grain, but now let us stop this business of loans.

1 Corinthians 15:36

  1. What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn't grow into a plant unless it dies first.

1 Thessalonians 3:5

  1. That is why, when I could bear it no longer, I sent Timothy to find out whether your faith was still strong. I was afraid that the Tempter had gotten the best of you and that all our work had been useless.
  2. Now Timothy has just returned, bringing the good news that your faith and love are as strong as ever. He reports that you remember our visit with joy and that you want to see us just as much as we want to see you.
  3. So we have been greatly comforted, dear brothers and sisters, in all of our own crushing troubles and suffering, because you have remained strong in your faith.
  4. It gives us new life, knowing you remain strong in the Lord.

  1. We are glad to be weak, if you are really strong. What we pray for is your restoration to maturity.

Galatians 3:1

  1. Oh, foolish Galatians! What magician has cast an evil spell on you? For you used to see the meaning of Jesus Christ's death as clearly as though I had shown you a signboard with a picture of Christ dying on the cross.
  2. Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law? Of course not, for the Holy Spirit came upon you only after you believed the message you heard about Christ.
  3. Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?

Galatians 2:4

  1. Even that question wouldn't have come up except for some so-called Christians there--false ones, really--who came to spy on us and see our freedom in Christ Jesus. They wanted to force us, like slaves, to follow their Jewish regulations.
  2. But we refused to listen to them for a single moment. We wanted to preserve the truth of the Good News for you.
  3. And the leaders of the church who were there had nothing to add to what I was preaching. (By the way, their reputation as great leaders made no difference to me, for God has no favorites.)

2 John 1:10

  1. If someone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don't invite him into your house or encourage him in any way.
  2. Anyone who encourages him becomes a partner in his evil work.

Nehemiah 13:23

  1. About the same time I realized that some of the men of Judah had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab.
  2. Even worse, half their children spoke in the language of Ashdod or some other people and could not speak the language of Judah at all.
  3. So I confronted them and called down curses on them. I beat some of them and pulled out their hair. I made them swear before God that they would not let their children intermarry with the pagan people of the land.

1 Corinthians 5:1

  1. I can hardly believe the report about the sexual immorality going on among you, something so evil that even the pagans don't do it. I am told that you have a man in your church who is living in sin with his father's wife.
  2. And you are so proud of yourselves! Why aren't you mourning in sorrow and shame? And why haven't you removed this man from your fellowship?
  3. Even though I am not there with you in person, I am with you in the Spirit. Concerning the one who has done this, I have already passed judgment
  4. in the name of the Lord Jesus. You are to call a meeting of the church, and I will be there in spirit, and the power of the Lord Jesus will be with you as you meet.
  5. Then you must cast this man out of the church and into Satan's hands, so that his sinful nature will be destroyed and he himself will be saved when the Lord returns.

Romans 12:15

  1. When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow.
