13: The number of sacrifices varied from day to day according to the commands Moses had given. Extra sacrifices were offered on the Sabbaths, on new moon festivals, and at the three annual festivals--the Passover celebration, the Festival of Harvest, and the Festival of Shelters.

Deuteronomy 16:16

  1. "Each year every man in Israel must celebrate these three festivals: the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Harvest, and the Festival of Shelters. They must appear before the LORD your God at the place he chooses on each of these occasions, and they must bring a gift to the LORD.

Exodus 29:38

  1. "This is what you are to offer on the altar. Offer two one-year-old lambs each day,
  2. one in the morning and the other in the evening.
  3. With one of them, offer two quarts of fine flour mixed with one quart of olive oil; also, offer one quart of wine as a drink offering.
  4. Offer the other lamb in the evening, along with the same offerings of flour and wine as in the morning. It will be a fragrant offering to the LORD, an offering made by fire.
  5. "This is to be a daily burnt offering given from generation to generation. Offer it in the LORD's presence at the Tabernacle entrance, where I will meet you and speak with you.

Ezekiel 46:3

  1. The common people will worship the LORD in front of this gateway on Sabbath days and the days of new moon celebrations.
  2. "Each Sabbath day the prince will present to the LORD a burnt offering of six lambs and one ram, all with no physical defects.
  3. He will present a grain offering of a half bushel of flour to go with the ram and whatever amount of flour he chooses to go with each lamb. He is to offer one gallon of olive oil for each half bushel of flour.
  4. At the new moon celebrations, he will bring one young bull, six lambs, and one ram, all with no physical defects.
  5. With the young bull he must bring a half bushel of flour for a grain offering. With the ram he must bring another half bushel of flour. And with each lamb he is to bring whatever amount of flour that he decides to give. With each half bushel of flour he must offer one gallon of olive oil.

Leviticus 23:1

  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Give the Israelites instructions regarding the LORD's appointed festivals, the days when all of you will be summoned to worship me.
  3. You may work for six days each week, but on the seventh day all work must come to a complete stop. It is the LORD's Sabbath day of complete rest, a holy day to assemble for worship. It must be observed wherever you live.
  4. In addition to the Sabbath, the LORD has established festivals, the holy occasions to be observed at the proper time each year.
  5. "First comes the LORD's Passover, which begins at twilight on its appointed day in early spring.

Exodus 23:14

  1. "Each year you must celebrate three festivals in my honor.
  2. The first is the Festival of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast, just as I commanded you before. This festival will be an annual event at the appointed time in early spring, for that is the anniversary of your exodus from Egypt. Everyone must bring me a sacrifice at that time.
  3. You must also celebrate the Festival of Harvest, when you bring me the first crops of your harvest. Finally, you are to celebrate the Festival of the Final Harvest at the end of the harvest season.
  4. At these three times each year, every man in Israel must appear before the Sovereign LORD.

1 Kings 9:25

  1. Three times each year Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings to the LORD on the altar he had built. He also burned incense to the LORD. And so he finished the work of building the Temple.

Ezekiel 45:17

  1. The prince will be required to provide offerings that are given at the religious festivals, the new moon celebrations, the Sabbath days, and all other similar occasions. He will provide the sin offerings, burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings, and peace offerings to make reconciliation for the people of Israel.

Numbers 28:1

  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Give these instructions to the people of Israel: The offerings you present to me by fire on the altar are my food, and they are very pleasing to me. See to it that they are brought at the appointed times and offered according to my instructions.
  3. "Say to them: When you present your daily whole burnt offerings to the LORD, you must offer two one-year-old male lambs with no physical defects.
  4. One lamb will be sacrificed in the morning and the other in the evening.
  5. With each lamb you must offer a grain offering of two quarts of choice flour mixed with one quart of olive oil.
