2 Chronicles 19:10

10: Whenever a case comes to you from fellow citizens in an outlying town, whether a murder case or some other violation of God's instructions, commands, laws, or regulations, you must warn them not to sin against the LORD, so that his anger will not come against you and them. Do this and you will not be guilty.

Deuteronomy 17:8

  1. "Suppose a case arises in a local court that is too hard for you to decide--for instance, whether someone is guilty of murder or only of manslaughter, or a difficult lawsuit, or a case involving different kinds of assault. Take such cases to the place the LORD your God will choose,
  2. where the Levitical priests and the judge on duty will hear the case and decide what to do.
  3. The decision they make at the place the LORD chooses will always stand. You must do exactly what they say.
  4. After they have interpreted the law and reached a verdict, the sentence they impose must be fully executed; do not modify it in any way.
  5. Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel.

Ezekiel 3:18

  1. If I warn the wicked, saying, `You are under the penalty of death,' but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible, demanding your blood for theirs.
  2. If you warn them and they keep on sinning and refuse to repent, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved your life because you did what you were told to do.
  3. If good people turn bad and don't listen to my warning, they will die. If you did not warn them of the consequences, then they will die in their sins. Their previous good deeds won't help them, and I will hold you responsible, demanding your blood for theirs.
  4. But if you warn them and they repent, they will live, and you will have saved your own life, too."
