18: Asa responded by taking all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the LORD's Temple and the royal palace. He sent it with some of his officials to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon and grandson of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus, along with this message:

- And Elisha replied, "Go and tell him, `You will recover.' But the LORD has shown me that he will actually die!"
- Elisha stared at Hazael with a fixed gaze until Hazael became uneasy. Then the man of God started weeping.

- `Your silver and gold are mine, and so are the best of your wives and children!'"
- "All right, my lord," Ahab replied. "All that I have is yours!"
- Soon Ben-hadad's messengers returned again and said, "This is what Ben-hadad says: `I have already demanded that you give me your silver, gold, wives, and children.
