3: Take him a gift of ten loaves of bread, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and ask him what will happen to the boy."

"But we don't have anything to offer him," Saul replied. "Even our food is gone, and we don't have a thing to give him."
"Well," the servant said, "I have one small silver piece. We can at least offer it to him and see what happens!"

One day a man from Baal-shalishah brought the man of God a sack of fresh grain and twenty loaves of barley bread made from the first grain of his harvest. Elisha said, "Give it to the group of prophets so they can eat."

Then the king said to the man of God, "Come to the palace with me and have something to eat, and I will give you a gift."

Now Elisha went to Damascus, the capital of Aram, where King Ben-hadad lay sick. Someone told the king that the man of God had come.
When the king heard the news, he said to Hazael, "Take a gift to the man of God. Then tell him to ask the LORD if I will get well again."
So Hazael loaded down forty camels with the finest products of Damascus as a gift for Elisha. He went in to him and said, "Your servant Ben-hadad, the king of Aram, has sent me to ask you if he will recover."

One day Israel's new king, Ahaziah, fell through the latticework of an upper room at his palace in Samaria, and he was seriously injured. So he sent messengers to the temple of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, to ask whether he would recover.

"Go and visit the prophet," the king told him. "I will send a letter of introduction for you to carry to the king of Israel." So Naaman started out, taking as gifts 750 pounds of silver, 150 pounds of gold, and ten sets of clothing.

Now the highly valued slave of a Roman officer was sick and near death.
When the officer heard about Jesus, he sent some respected Jewish leaders to ask him to come and heal his slave.

Then Naaman and his entire party went back to find the man of God. They stood before him, and Naaman said, "I know at last that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. Now please accept my gifts."

When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea and was traveling in Galilee, he went over to Cana. He found Jesus and begged him to come to Capernaum with him to heal his son, who was about to die.
Jesus asked, "Must I do miraculous signs and wonders before you people will believe in me?"

So the two sisters sent a message to Jesus telling him, "Lord, the one you love is very sick."
