7: And if he continues to obey my commands and regulations as he does now, I will make his kingdom last forever.'

For if you carefully obey the laws and regulations that the LORD gave to Israel through Moses, you will be successful. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!

As for you, if you will follow me with integrity and godliness, as David your father did, always obeying my commands and keeping my laws and regulations,
then I will establish the throne of your dynasty over Israel forever. For I made this promise to your father, David: `You will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.'

And may you, his people, always be faithful to the LORD our God. May you always obey his laws and commands, just as you are doing today."

The LORD was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.
He had warned Solomon specifically about worshiping other gods, but Solomon did not listen to the LORD's command.
So now the LORD said to him, "Since you have not kept my covenant and have disobeyed my laws, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants.
But for the sake of your father, David, I will not do this while you are still alive. I will take the kingdom away from your son.
And even so, I will let him be king of one tribe, for the sake of my servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, my chosen city."

"I am going where everyone on earth must someday go. Take courage and be a man.
Observe the requirements of the LORD your God and follow all his ways. Keep each of the laws, commands, regulations, and stipulations written in the law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go.
If you do this, then the LORD will keep the promise he made to me: `If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.'

If your descendants obey the terms of my covenant and follow the decrees that I teach them, then your royal line will never end."

I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end.
I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.
But if his sons forsake my law and fail to walk in my ways,
if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.

So take this seriously. The LORD has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary. Be strong, and do the work."

In Solomon's old age, they turned his heart to worship their gods instead of trusting only in the LORD his God, as his father, David, had done.

"Concerning this Temple you are building, if you keep all my laws and regulations and obey all my commands, I will fulfill through you the promise I made to your father, David.
I will live among the people of Israel and never forsake my people."

"Be strong and courageous, for you will lead my people to possess all the land I swore to give their ancestors.
Be strong and very courageous. Obey all the laws Moses gave you. Do not turn away from them, and you will be successful in everything you do.

"During the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed; no one will ever conquer it. It will shatter all these kingdoms into nothingness, but it will stand forever.
