18: Finally, he designated the amount of refined gold for the altar of incense and for the gold cherubim, whose wings were stretched out over the Ark of the LORD's covenant.

Exodus 25:18

  1. Then use hammered gold to make two cherubim, and place them at the two ends of the atonement cover.
  2. Attach the cherubim to each end of the atonement cover, making it all one piece.
  3. The cherubim will face each other, looking down on the atonement cover with their wings spread out above it.
  4. Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark.
  5. I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.

Exodus 30:1

  1. "Then make a small altar out of acacia wood for burning incense.
  2. It must be eighteen inches square and three feet high, with horns at the corners carved from the same piece of wood as the altar.
  3. Overlay the top, sides, and horns of the altar with pure gold, and run a gold molding around the entire altar.
  4. Beneath the molding, on opposite sides of the altar, attach two gold rings to support the carrying poles.
  5. The poles are to be made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold.

1 Kings 6:23

  1. Within the inner sanctuary Solomon placed two cherubim made of olive wood, each 15 feet tall.
  2. The wingspan of each of the cherubim was 15 feet, each wing being 7 1/2 feet long.
  3. The two cherubim were identical in shape and size;
  4. each was 15 feet tall.
  5. Solomon placed them side by side in the inner sanctuary of the Temple. Their outspread wings reached from wall to wall, while their inner wings touched at the center of the room.

Psalms 99:1

  1. The LORD is king! Let the nations tremble! He sits on his throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake!

Ezekiel 10:2

  1. Then the LORD spoke to the man in linen clothing and said, "Go in between the whirling wheels beneath the cherubim, and take a handful of glowing coals and scatter them over the city." He did this as I watched.
  2. The cherubim were standing at the south end of the Temple when the man went in, and the cloud of glory filled the inner courtyard.
  3. Then the glory of the LORD rose up from above the cherubim and went over to the door of the Temple. The Temple was filled with this cloud of glory, and the Temple courtyard glowed brightly with the glory of the LORD.
  4. The moving wings of the cherubim sounded like the voice of God Almighty and could be heard clearly in the outer courtyard.
  5. The LORD said to the man in linen clothing, "Go between the cherubim and take some burning coals from between the wheels." So the man went in and stood beside one of the wheels.

Ezekiel 1:15

  1. As I looked at these beings, I saw four wheels on the ground beneath them, one wheel belonging to each.
  2. The wheels sparkled as if made of chrysolite. All four wheels looked the same; each wheel had a second wheel turning crosswise within it.
  3. The beings could move forward in any of the four directions they faced, without turning as they moved.
  4. The rims of the four wheels were awesomely tall, and they were covered with eyes all around the edges.
  5. When the four living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. When they flew upward, the wheels went up, too.
