18: Finally, he designated the amount of refined gold for the altar of incense and for the gold cherubim, whose wings were stretched out over the Ark of the LORD's covenant.
Exodus 25:18
- Then use hammered gold to make two cherubim, and place them at the two ends of the atonement cover.
- Attach the cherubim to each end of the atonement cover, making it all one piece.
- The cherubim will face each other, looking down on the atonement cover with their wings spread out above it.
- Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark.
- I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.
Exodus 30:1
- "Then make a small altar out of acacia wood for burning incense.
- It must be eighteen inches square and three feet high, with horns at the corners carved from the same piece of wood as the altar.
- Overlay the top, sides, and horns of the altar with pure gold, and run a gold molding around the entire altar.
- Beneath the molding, on opposite sides of the altar, attach two gold rings to support the carrying poles.
- The poles are to be made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold.

- Within the inner sanctuary Solomon placed two cherubim made of olive wood, each 15 feet tall.
- The wingspan of each of the cherubim was 15 feet, each wing being 7 1/2 feet long.

- Solomon placed them side by side in the inner sanctuary of the Temple. Their outspread wings reached from wall to wall, while their inner wings touched at the center of the room.

Ezekiel 10:2

Ezekiel 1:15
- As I looked at these beings, I saw four wheels on the ground beneath them, one wheel belonging to each.
- The wheels sparkled as if made of chrysolite. All four wheels looked the same; each wheel had a second wheel turning crosswise within it.
- The beings could move forward in any of the four directions they faced, without turning as they moved.
- The rims of the four wheels were awesomely tall, and they were covered with eyes all around the edges.
- When the four living beings moved, the wheels moved with them. When they flew upward, the wheels went up, too.
