Romans 6:14
14: Sin is no longer your master, for you are no longer subject to the law, which enslaves you to sin. Instead, you are free by God's grace.

- But sin took advantage of this law and aroused all kinds of forbidden desires within me! If there were no law, sin would not have that power.
John 1:17
- For the law was given through Moses; God's unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 3:6
- He is the one who has enabled us to represent his new covenant. This is a covenant, not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old way ends in death; in the new way, the Holy Spirit gives life.
- That old system of law etched in stone led to death, yet it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses' face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away.
- Shouldn't we expect far greater glory when the Holy Spirit is giving life?
- If the old covenant, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new covenant, which makes us right with God!
Romans 5:20
- God's law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God's wonderful kindness became more abundant.
- So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful kindness rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Psalms 130:7
