Ro 10:4 Cross References
Romans 10:4
4: For Christ has accomplished the whole purpose of the law. All who believe in him are made right with God.
Galatians 3:24
- Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian and teacher to lead us until Christ came. So now, through faith in Christ, we are made right with God.
Romans 8:3
- The law of Moses could not save us, because of our sinful nature. But God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours, except that ours are sinful. God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.
- He did this so that the requirement of the law would be fully accomplished for us who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
Matthew 5:17
- "Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them.
- I assure you, until heaven and earth disappear, even the smallest detail of God's law will remain until its purpose is achieved.
Acts 13:38
- "Brothers, listen! In this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins.
- Everyone who believes in him is freed from all guilt and declared right with God--something the Jewish law could never do.
John 1:17
- For the law was given through Moses; God's unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.
Colossians 2:17
- For these rules were only shadows of the real thing, Christ himself.
Romans 3:25
- For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. God was being entirely fair and just when he did not punish those who sinned in former times.
- And he is entirely fair and just in this present time when he declares sinners to be right in his sight because they believe in Jesus.
- Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith.
- So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.
- After all, God is not the God of the Jews only, is he? Isn't he also the God of the Gentiles? Of course he is.
Romans 7:1
- Now, dear brothers and sisters--you who are familiar with the law--don't you know that the law applies only to a person who is still living?
- Let me illustrate. When a woman marries, the law binds her to her husband as long as he is alive. But if he dies, the laws of marriage no longer apply to her.
- So while her husband is alive, she would be committing adultery if she married another man. But if her husband dies, she is free from that law and does not commit adultery when she remarries.
- So this is the point: The law no longer holds you in its power, because you died to its power when you died with Christ on the cross. And now you are united with the one who was raised from the dead. As a result, you can produce good fruit, that is, good deeds for God.
Hebrews 10:14
- For by that one offering he perfected forever all those whom he is making holy.
Isaiah 53:11
- When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of what he has experienced, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.
1 Corinthians 1:30
- God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom.
Romans 3:22
- We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done.
Hebrews 10:8
- Christ said, "You did not want animal sacrifices or grain offerings or animals burned on the altar or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them" (though they are required by the law of Moses).
- Then he added, "Look, I have come to do your will." He cancels the first covenant in order to establish the second.
- And what God wants is for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.
- Under the old covenant, the priest stands before the altar day after day, offering sacrifices that can never take away sins.
- But our High Priest offered himself to God as one sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down at the place of highest honor at God's right hand.

Hebrews 9:7
- But only the high priest goes into the Most Holy Place, and only once a year, and always with blood, which he offers to God to cover his own sins and the sins the people have committed in ignorance.
- By these regulations the Holy Spirit revealed that the Most Holy Place was not open to the people as long as the first room and the entire system it represents were still in use.
- This is an illustration pointing to the present time. For the gifts and sacrifices that the priests offer are not able to cleanse the consciences of the people who bring them.
- For that old system deals only with food and drink and ritual washing--external regulations that are in effect only until their limitations can be corrected.
- So Christ has now become the High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that great, perfect sanctuary in heaven, not made by human hands and not part of this created world.
