Hebrews 12:1
1: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us.
2 Timothy 4:7
- I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
1 Corinthians 9:24
- Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize. You also must run in such a way that you will win.
- All athletes practice strict self-control. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.

Romans 5:3
- We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to endure.
- And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.
- And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
James 5:7
- Dear brothers and sisters, you must be patient as you wait for the Lord's return. Consider the farmers who eagerly look for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They patiently wait for the precious harvest to ripen.
- You, too, must be patient. And take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
- Don't grumble about each other, my brothers and sisters, or God will judge you. For look! The great Judge is coming. He is standing at the door!
- For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
- We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. Job is an example of a man who endured patiently. From his experience we see how the Lord's plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy.
2 Timothy 2:4
- And as Christ's soldier, do not let yourself become tied up in the affairs of this life, for then you cannot satisfy the one who has enlisted you in his army.

- For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

- So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
